A picturesque trail leads visitors to Cava Carosello, where over the centuries, people have used the water at the bottom of the valley to create numerous tanneries, carved into the limestone rock for processing animal hides into leather.
At the bottom of the valley, the riparian vegetation provides several shaded areas where you can cool off in the fresh waters of the Carosello stream, which forms characteristic natural potholes along its course.
Along the route, you can see the remains of an ancient lime kiln for the production of liquid lime, the rock church of San Giuliano with a few traces of frescoes, and a complex water canalization system that exploited the natural slope of the land.
